Turning Exploration into Thoughtful Real-World Impact

How we work is not a fixed methodology or project plan. It is a way of creating space to explore uncertainty, test assumptions, and shape ideas before they become an engagement, workshop, or deliverable. This page offers a glimpse into that process—explore what resonates.

Come On In Inside the SparkChange Studio

Our work combines strategic foresight, sensemaking, co-creation, and adaptive strategy. We work alongside leaders and teams to explore uncertainty, challenge assumptions, and develop strategic choices that are grounded in context and usable in practice.

Rather than applying one-size-fits-all solutions, we tailor each engagement to the questions, dynamics, and decisions that matter most to the organization.

Four modes that shape how we think, collaborate, and create change.

Attunement

From listening to sensing. We invest time in attuning to context - reading signals across people, systems, and environments. This includes research and dialogue, but also reflection, pattern recognition, and noticing what is often overlooked.

Sensemaking

From reframing to meaning-making. We work with complexity by surfacing assumptions, questioning dominant narratives, and connecting insights across disciplines. Sensemaking allows new interpretations-and new strategic possibilities-to emerge.

Co-Creation as Practice

From ‘we design’ to ‘we work alongside’. We believe strategies are stronger when they are shaped with - not for - the people who will carry them forward. Our Studio is a collaborative space where ideas are tested, adapted, and owned collectively.

Learning in Motion

From implementation to evolution. We approach change as an ongoing learning process. Rather than fixed endpoints, we support experimentation, feedback, and adaptation as conditions evolve.

Translating Futures How Foresight Becomes Actionable

Strategic foresight only matters if it informs decisions. We translate futures thinking into insights, conversations, and strategic choices that leaders and organizations can use in the present.

Our work helps make uncertainty tangible, surface implications, and connect long-term possibilities to near-term action—without reducing complexity to a single forecast or fixed plan.

Insight & Interpretation

We synthesize research and foresight signals to interpret complex social, political, and economic dynamics-helping organizations make sense of what is emerging and why it matters.

Narrative & Sensemaking Design

We use narrative, visual, and experiential design to make futures tangible - supporting shared understanding, alignment, and strategic conversation.

Collective Deliberation

We design and hold spaces for structured dialogue, enabling diverse actors to explore uncertainty, surface tensions, and navigate trade-offs together.

Strategic Scaffolding

We develop flexible frameworks that connect foresight to decisions and action—helping organizations move forward while retaining the capacity to adapt as conditions change.

Rationale Why Strategic Foresight

Strategic foresight helps organizations make better decisions when the future cannot be reliably predicted. By exploring multiple plausible futures, it challenges assumptions, broadens strategic options, and strengthens the ability to act under uncertainty.

oresight does not remove uncertainty. It makes it more usable—helping leaders think beyond the most obvious future before committing to decisions in the present. [Read More]

Today’s decision-makers operate in environments shaped by complexity, rapid change, and competing signals. Linear planning, single-point forecasts, and past performance are often insufficient guides to long-term strategy.

Strategic foresight responds by shifting attention from prediction to preparation and from a single expected future to multiple plausible futures. Rather than asking only what will happen?, it asks what could happen, why might it happen, and what would it mean for the choices we make today?

At its core, strategic foresight:

  • Ssurfaces assumptions about how the world works;
  • explores structurally different yet plausible futures; and
  • tests strategies against a range of conditions before major commitments are made.

SparkChange draws on established traditions in scenario thinking and strategic management, including the sensemaking-oriented approach associated with the Oxford Scenarios Programme. This strengthens strategic judgment by making mental models visible, encouraging dialogue, and reframing how organizations understand their operating environment.

Foresight is not an end in itself. Its value lies in enabling better decisions in the present—decisions that are more robust across uncertainty, aligned with enduring priorities, and able to adapt as conditions change.
